The Structured Program for the Acquisition of German in the U.S. – Resources and Know-How, better known as SPARK, is a 10 week after school program sponsored by Goethe-Institut and the American Association of Teachers of German (AATG) here to serve parents and children in the community. This program introduces children to the German language and culture through fun activities and lessons! SPARK meets once a week after school. The children not only gain knowledge of Germany, but begin to think beyond the local scope and on a global scale!

A group of Texas Tech University students leads the SPARK group. The students are all a part of the German Program at Tech. The SPARK class sizes are limited to about 25 elementary students, so that they can receive individual help and attention! This allows a bond to form between the elementary and college students, strengthening our Lubbock Community!
